With a degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences from the University of Extremadura, she began her research career at the University of Granada in 2005, carrying out her first Doctoral Thesis on fibromyalgia patients within the Doctoral Programme ‘Physical Activity and Health for a Better Quality of Life’. Subsequently, after completing the Master's Degree in Human Nutrition, she performed a second doctoral Thesis within the PhD programme ‘Human Nutrition’, in which she investigated the effects of strength training, high-protein diets, calorie restriction and anabolic steroids on different metabolic markers in animal models. Both international Theses were awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in Health Sciences. In her postdoctoral career, she obtained the Andalucía Talent-Hub grant (Marie-Curie Programme) which allowed her to work in the European project ‘DALI’.Ìý
