With regard to the “Order of 24 October 2020, extending some of the measures adopted in the Order of 14 October adopting specific, temporary and exceptional measures — for public health reasons and to contain Covid-19 — which are applicable to university teaching centres and university residences in Granada” (Official Gazette of the Andalusian Regional Government (BOJA) no. 69, 24 October (extraordinary issue), the University wishes to inform of the following update.

The Regional Government of Andalusia has extended the measures published in its Official Gazette (BOJA) in relation to the development of academic activities at the UGR.

On October 16th at 2 pm CEST, the Arqus European University Alliance will hold a discussion on inclusion in mobility, as part of the programme of the #ERASMUSDAYS2020 as well as to celebrate the Arqus Day, which is the 18th of October.

The Vice-Rectorate for Equality, Inclusion and Sustainability and the Health and Risk Prevention (SPRL) Service of the University of Granada have launched a new procedure so that students can directly communicate cases of Covid-19 infection.

The Regional Government of Andalusia has issued, in its Official Gazette (BOJA) no. 65 (extraordinary issue), the Order of 14 October 2020, establishing specific, temporary and exceptional measures — for public health reasons and to contain Covid-19 — which are applicable to university teaching centres and university residences in Granada.

The UGR recently issued infographics detailing its Covid-19 protocols and advice, which are available in English and Spanish and indicate the steps to take if you start experiencing Covid-19 symptoms while on or off campus, as well as tips to help protect the environment.

The European Commission recently appointed Germán Martínez Montes, Professor of Engineering Projects at the University of Granada (UGR), to the Jean Monnet Chair “PM2 by European Commission: Open, free and common project management framework for all European institutions, companies and citizens”.

The University of Granada's study rooms, canteens and libraries opened on Monday 21 September, coinciding with the beginning of the 2020-21 academic year at the UGR.

The UGR's Induction Days for International Students got underway on Monday 14 September and drew to a close on Friday 18 September. This year the induction sessions were held in a blended format (a mix of online and on-campus activities) due to the health measures imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Approximately 800 students, most of whom are from European Union countries, attended the sessions.

In the "traditional" intra-European Erasmus programme (KA103), the University of Granada (UGR) has been allocated more mobility places than any other higher education institution in Europe. In total, the University has been awarded 2,647 places, of which 2,440 are for students.
