The International Researcher Development Week (IRDW) is a one-week event for researchers and academics as well as policy officers in charge of research and knowledge transfer at the partner universities of the University of Granada. The event is financed by the European Union's Erasmus+ International Dimension Programme and will take place from 25 to 29 March 2019.
The aim of the meeting is to promote the internationalization of research and knowledge transfer, bringing together academics and researchers from all over the world. The participants will have the opportunity to visit key research centres and institutes, meet local research groups, and explore possibilities for opening new paths for collaboration.
The IRDW will provide our international partners with an excellent opportunity to explore the UGR鈥檚 key strategies in the areas of research, doctoral studies, internationalization, social policies, and outreach, among others. It will examine crucial elements involved in the effective promotion and internationalization of research and knowledge transfer, including international cooperation, patents, spin-offs, university-industry cooperation, and the reception and welcoming of international researchers. 听It will also delve into other important factors such as the management of university library services and digital resources.
On the third day, participants will have the chance to explore cooperation opportunities at selected research hubs, choosing one of听the following three tracks: Health Sciences; Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); or Social Sciences and Humanities.
The programme will draw to a close on Friday 29 March by exploring a broad range of funding and cooperation opportunities. Workshops will be delivered on how to make the most of European research programmes (Horizon 2020, Marie Curie-Sk艂odowska actions, European Research Council, UGR Research Fund) and national and international cooperation funding initiatives (Erasmus+ Key Action 2, UGR Internationalization Fund, UGR Development Cooperation Fund).
We will also run guided tours of the UGR鈥檚 historical buildings and the "Parque de las Ciencias" Science Museum, showcasing the University鈥檚 exceptional heritage and highlighting the significant socio-economic role our institution plays at the local and regional levels.
The I International Researcher Week, held in July 2018, brought together over 100 researchers and policy officers from the following 22 countries: Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, China, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Togo, Tunisia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
